Mikheil Sarjveladze, the Georgian Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia, on Friday met Esther Lynch, the General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation, and Irakli Petriashvili, the Chair of Georgian Trade Unions Confederation, to discuss the current labour rights situation in the country.
The Ministry said the meeting also discussed the topic of minimum wage, unemployment benefits, encouragement of social dialogue and collective agreements, as well as provision of decent working environments.
The body added Lynch shared her experience with the Minister, with the parties expressing their readiness for “close and active cooperation in the future to solve the existing matters”.
