Almaty to generate 76,000 jobs in 2025
84,700 jobs were created in Almaty in 2024, Kazinform News Agency reports referring to the employment and social programs department.
84,700 jobs were created in Almaty in 2024 which reduced unemployment by 4.6%, head of the employment and social programs department Bauyrzhan Zhaubassov said presenting the results of the department’s work for 2024.
He said 286,000 public services were provided last year, of which 54% were provided through the E-gov portal.
5 billion tenge was allocated for social obligations. In 2025 financing rose by 30% to reach 7.1 billion tenge.
He added that 84,700 workplaces were generated last year. 69,000 people applied for the labor mobility center, of which 50,000 were recognized as jobless. Thanks to the taken measures the city’s unemployment rate reduced from 4.8% to 4.6%.
Next year plans to create no less than 76,000 jobs, of which 67,500 will be permanent.
Notably, over 10,000 new jobs were generated in 2024 in Karaganda region. 31,374 jobs were created in Aktobe region since the year beginning, 22,000 of them are permanent jobs.
