Kazakhstan eyes agreements to protect migrant workers rights with some countries

Kazakhstan is looking to sign agreements with a number of countries regarding labor activities of its nationals, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

In order to ensure the labor and social rights of migrant workers from Kazakhstan, the work is ongoing to conclude agreements with Turkiye, the UAE, the U.S., Great Britain, South Korea and Israel, regulating the labor activities of Kazakhstani nationals in these countries, said Asskarbek Yertayev, Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, during a briefing at the Central Communication Service.
Yertayev noted that the Kazakh government adopted the decision regarding the signature of an agreement between Astana and Doha to regulate employment of workers from Kazakhstan in Qatar.

In addition, mechanisms are under revision to regulate the activities of private employment agencies regarding organization of work of Kazakhstani nationals abroad.

In Almaty, East Kazakhstan and Turkistan regions, centers were set up for training prior to travelling. Their main task is to offer language, professional development courses for candidates seeking employment abroad, said Yertayev.
