How much will the minimum wage be in 2025?
Starting from 1 January 2025, a new minimum wage rate came into effect. Excluding taxes and contributions for mandatory social insurance, this year it amounts to 308 dinars (net) per working hour, the Serbian Employers’ Association reminds.
The Socio-Economic Council of the Republic of Serbia has adopted a decision to increase the minimum hourly wage from 271 dinars to 308 dinars.
Given these changes, the net minimum wage will vary depending on the number of working hours in a month:
For a month with 160 working hours: 49,280.00 dinars
For a month with 168 working hours: 51,744.00 dinars
For a month with 176 working hours: 54,208.00 dinars
For a month with 184 working hours: 56,672.00 dinars
The gross minimum wage amounts for payments from 1 January 2025, taking into account the new tax exemption of 28,423 dinars, will be as follows:
For a month with 160 working hours: 66,244.93 dinars
For a month with 168 working hours: 69,759.91 dinars
For a month with 176 working hours: 73,274.90 dinars
For a month with 184 working hours: 76,789.87 dinars
The Serbian Employers’ Association emphasises that all employers are required to prepare contract annexes for employees receiving the minimum wage.
“This obligation arises from the fact that, in the event of a wage change, the employer must offer the employee a modification of the agreed working conditions, i.e., the conclusion of an annex to the employment contract, in accordance with the Labour Law. When offering an annex to the employment contract, the employer is also obliged to provide the employee with a written notification explaining the reasons for the offer, the deadlines for responding, and highlighting the legal consequences of rejecting the offer,” the statement said.
