Georgian Deputy Economy Minister highlights “historic low” in unemployment, “all-time high” employment figures for 2024
Vakhtang Tsintsadze, the Deputy Economy Minister of Georgia, on Wednesday highlighted the domestic unemployment had fallen to a ”record low” of 13.9 percent in 2024 while the number of employed individuals reached an “all-time high” of 1.4 million in the past year.

Tsintsadze highlighted the correlation between “robust” economic growth and labour market trends, stating that the domestic economy grew by 9.5 percent in 2024.

Georgia is one of the leaders globally in terms of economic growth […] If we look at the labour market, employment is increasing in parallel with the growth of the labour force, which indicates healthy trends and structural improvements”, he said.
Tsintsadze expressed optimism for continued growth this year, saying the Government aimed to maintain a high growth rate to further enhance labour market conditions, reduce unemployment, and improve wages.
