Capital investment in Ukraine rose by 9.9% y/y in 1H2026
More than a third of the total value of investments made during the period was accounted for by the manufacturing sector
Capital investment in Ukraine for January–June 2026 totalled 307.9 billion UAH, an increase of 9.9% compared with the same period last year. This was reported by the State Statistics Service.
More than a third (39.5%) of the total value of capital investment made in the first half of the year was accounted for by industry (121.5 billion UAH), whilst 11.4% (35.0 billion UAH) went to agriculture, forestry and fisheries. The trade sector received 9.6% of capital investment (UAH 29.6 billion) between January and June. The construction sector received 8.5% of capital investment (UAH 26.2 billion).
The vast majority of investment was concentrated in tangible assets – 94.5% of the total. In particular, the largest share of funds was invested in machinery, equipment and fixtures (36.1%) and civil engineering structures (22.4%).
Almost 42% of capital investment (128.5 billion hryvnias) was made in Kyiv.
As reported by GMK Center, the volume of capital investment in Ukraine in 2025 rose by 20.3% year-on-year to 893.6 billion UAH. A significant proportion of capital investment was concentrated in industry — 36.6% (UAH 327.1 billion), agriculture, forestry and fisheries — 12% (UAH 107.3 billion), transport and warehousing — 9.5% (UAH 84.8 billion), and public administration and defence — 7.9% (UAH 70.3 billion).
It should be noted that the State Statistics Service estimated that Ukraine’s real GDP grew by 0.6% in the second quarter compared with the same period last year. Compared with the previous quarter, and taking seasonal factors into account, real GDP rose by 0.4%.
